INTRODUCTION

1981 - This was a year to remember. January/February saw the completion of negotiations to remove 5367 from the Forbes Vintage Village, it being taken into the village in 1979 with 6042. 3112 was to follow later. The tender and engine sections were seperated and because of instability of the Forbes yard sidings the decision was made to take the sections by road to Eugowra and then make 5367 the only Standard Goods loco to travel on the branch. A job taking many hours was carried out under the supervision of Roy Miles and finally 4718 brought 5367 into Cowra on 27th January, 1981. A further 10 days later the loco was going again and passed all tests and was used in the Lotto advertisement filmed Blayney station in February, 1981. It is probably a record that the Society set under Roy Miles' direction to get loco out of static display and back to service under basic conditions in such a short time.
