"Mini Profile Series No. 8 - Steaming through the Pass - Quorn to Woolshed Flat"

By Steve McNicol

Paperback cover 20 pages colour photos

INTRODUCTION

The Pichi Richi Railway is one of the most scenic railway lines in South Australia. It winds its way through the Pichi Richi Pass, crossing a number of creeks on the way. The landscape changes with the seasons and varies from dry and brown in summer to a lush green in winter. It is no wonder the railway attracts not only tourists and railway enthusiasts, but photographers as well.

In Mini Profile Number Two we looked at the formative years of the railway up to, and including the first trains. In this publication we enjoy the trains and scenic wonder of the area as we journey from Quorn to Woolshed Flat and then back again to Quorn. Port Augusta to Woolshed will be covered in another book.

Of the thousands of available photographs it was hard to narrow them down to just over forty images, but we hope you agree that the ones we have chosen do justice to the subject matter and perhaps encourages others to visit the area.
