Cab Rides Pt1 covered rides in 48, 442 and 80 Class locomotives. Cab Rides Pt2 covers the thrill of riding in the cabs of G, T and 81 Class locomotives as they travel along the Western Main and Branch Lines between the Sydney suburban area and both Dubbo on the Main West and Tottenham, the latter being the terminus on the branch line running off the Broken Hill main line at Bogan Gate.
The cab rides featured in this DVD are Sydney to Lithgow aboard a G Class, beyond Lithgow towards Dubbo aboard G and then 81 Class, Dubbo towards Orange aboard T and then 81 Class, Tottenham to Orange aboard a T Class and then from Orange to Lithgow aboard G and then 81 Class. The latter includes a normal ‘up main’ climb through the Lithgow 10 tunnels in an 81 Class followed by a ride in an G Class in wet weather necessitating the use of the bi-directional features of this section of track because of track maintenance activity on the ‘up main’.
