In this presentation we continue on from ‘Main South Review Pt 1’, moving south from Goulburn to Bomen (just south of Wagga Wagga) and effectively reviewing the changes to operators, operation and infrastructure that have occurred since the release of the presentations ‘Main South Line Parts 2, 3 & 4’.
These changes include full implementation of CTC (Centralised Traffic Control) controlled out of Junee which has resulted in all the remaining upper and lower quadrant signals being replaced with colour aspect signals and signal boxes becoming either unmanned or in most cases completely redundant, the termination of the Demondrille Junction - Blayney branch line cutting access to Cowra, a review of the yards at Harden, Cootamundra, Junee and bomen, QR National intermodal trains replacing those of Interail and El Zorro and QR National/ARG entering NSW grain haulage.
Locomotives seen include DC/422, G, GL, L/LZ, NR, T, VL, 42, 47, 48 and 81 Classes in the various revised liveries whilst passenger traffic includes Endeavours, Explorers and XPTs in the latest CityRail and CountryLink livery.
