Northern Coal 2013 Pt 3 followed the path of loaded trains from the Narrabri area to Willow Tree. In Northern Coal 2013 Pt 4, we follow loaded coal trains on the return journey from Willow Tree through to Branxton.
We view 10,000 tonne Pacific National and Whitehaven 82 wagon coal trains being banked up across the Liverpool Ranges, with three TT and/or WH Class locomotives on the front and two TTs banking on the rear, a total of 21,500HP/16,050KW power. We also view Xstrata Rail, Aurizon and Pacific National trains of up to 11,000 tonnes struggling up the Whittingham - Minimbah bank. Additionally whilst viewing the recently opened Mangoola Colliery balloon loop on the Ulan Line, we come across recently delivered Bradford Kendall BK Class locomotives undergoing trials.
Locomotives seen in this DVD-R include BK, CF, HL (ex 422), TT, VL, WH, XRN, 90, 92, 5000, 5020 Classes in the liveries of Aurizon (QR National), Bradford Kendall, CFCLA, Freight Corp, PacNat, Whitehaven and Xstrata, whilst passenger traffic is represented by CountryLink’s Explorers.
