INTRODUCTION
I was not born with any literary talents, therefore this attempt at an autobiography has been written with sporadic bursts of memory flashes and a great deal of enthusiasm. I have not tried to elaborate on the many types of railway operational procedures, which from the 1940s through to the 1980s, differed slightly within the two gauges of track (narrow 3' 6" and broad 5' 3").
Interalia, I have tried to describe a personal recollection of a country railway man's life in all regions of this great southern state of ours...
