“Diesel Diary - 12” continues the theme of illustrating a wide range of diesel locomotives working in a variety of locations in New South Wales.
Highlights of this video include:
- Quad 48s on heavy coal trains from Newstan being banked up the grade at Fassifern.
- Scenes of The Indian Pacific and The Ghan being diverted via the Short South in the late 1990s.
- Austrac’s 48s and 18s at work, including their first run from Sydney in November 1997.
- “G” and “X” class locos on the first Freight Victoria log train to Wallerawang in December 1999.
- 4486, 4701 & 4716 working in various combinations to haul Lachlan Valley Rail Freight’s train no.4168 up the Cowan Bank.
- A NSW Rail Transport Museum tour to the Southern Highlands worked by candy 4916, blue 42219 and indian red 44211.
