”38s “ part 2 contains 80 minutes of spectacular footage recorded from 1997 to 2004 of 3801 and 3830 hard at work around NSW.
Highlights include scenes of the 38s double heading on the MILLENNIUM AURORA tour from Sydney to Melbourne in 2000 which featured a spectac-ular parallel run with two Victorian “R” class locomotives.
Both locomotives are shown hard at work hauling the Cockatoo Run, and witness the rare sight of 3801 wearing the temporary black livery that was applied after its 1999 overhaul hauling an extremely heavy train to Moss Vale.
Two cab rides on 3830 are experienced, one as the locomotive blasts up the grades to Robertson and the other as we parallel 3801 from Redfern to Rhodes and then storms along the main northern line to Hornsby.
This DVD is a collection of unforgettable scenes and sounds that all steam enthusiasts will appreciate.
