Volumes 3 & 4 of Stories of Steam contained footage of preserved steam loco-motives operating around NSW recorded from 1994 to 1997 and had only been released on VHS tape.
For this DVD the original footage of selected chapters has been digitally remastered and edited to produce 86 minutes of spectacular and now historic steam locomotive action.
Some of the highlights include...
3642 hauling the Heritage Pullman carriages on a three day tour to Junee in the winter of 1996; SMR18 on heavy load trials on the grades from Picton to Thirlmere; 3112 & 3001 on a tour of the scenic Illawarra line; and 5910 working to Rlystone, double heading with BHP loco Bronzewing on a tour of the Wollongong steel network and storming the grade through Molonglo gorge with 3016.
