Ritz Rail operated luxury tourist trains on the Casino-Murwillumbah branch in northern NSW from 1999 to 2002. Ex-NSWGR 421 class diesels hauled ex-SAR and ex-NSWGR stock. Trains ran from Murwillumbah to Byron Bay and Bangalow- Lismore, with occasional extended excusrionsto Brisbane. In October 2002, a Brisbane excursion combined with trips to Sydney and Canberra. The last Ritz Rail train ran in December the same year.
This DVD video production shows the run from Murwillumbah to Brisbane, and Brisbane to Loadstone and return, on 5th and 6th October 2002, including the passage of the famous Border Spiral.
