Featuring New South Wales 1989 to 1991 plus 1970.

30 class 4-6-4 tank engines and wooden suburban cars move along at at a fair pace on both the Toronto Line and on the nearby Main at Fassifern in 1970. These scenes contrast with 2 car diesels travelling leisurely on woeful track just before the closure of the Toronto line.

Lower quadrant mechanical signals, old style yard lamps, plenty of telephone wires, a full circle round house (entered by Alco 4491) and a magnificent station... That's the formula for Junee, our feature station. A brief look at the Sydney suburban scene in 1989 with the occasional red survivor. Indian Pacifics at Lithgow and at Lapstone with 80 class providing the power.

Picton area feature, including regular freights, 8 car and 4 car diesel multiple units, and Picton Signal box in some detail.  This is mainly GM territory, and locos are mostly 81 and 422 including bicentennial plus 1955 vintage Clyde GM loco 4201 in 125 anniversary paint scheme, however the occasional 44 Alco makes an appearance.

GM fans will love the final segment with 422 class in full battle cry as they blast up the hills of Picton with the final days of the Budd and Tulloch cars as loco hauled trains.

Captured mostly on professional Betacam, or 16mm film. Some older segments were taken on 8mm, super 8 and 9.5mm formats, professionally transferred, plus some professional Umatic. All has been edited on one inch tape and directly duplicated. The one inch tape master transferred to digital for release on DVD.

An Original Rowlingstock Production.

Approximate run time: 55 minutes.
