The NCE #AIU01 Auxiliary Input Unit provides connection of up to 14 external devices such as block occupancy detectors, switch position relays, etc., for purposes of signaling and/or computer control of your layout. The external devices can be anything that supplies an electrical connection between the input pins (1-14) and the pins marked 'GND.'
These connections can then be read by a computer through the RS-232 port of the command station using the RS-232 commands found in the user guide. Simply plugs in to the Cab Bus with the included cable. LEDs provide indication of which input is active.
The AIU01 will also connect NCE's future Signaling Control Unit for control of trackside signals without requiring the use of a computer.
