In this presentation, North Coast Line Review Pt1, we shall review rail operations as we travel from Telarah to Grafton in the period 2008 through 2011.

In this period we will see the effect of QR National taking over both ARG and Interail, thereby introducing G, LDP, X and 2200 Classes into their fleet mix on North Coast intermodal and coal operations while eliminating leased EL Class. Many passing loops have been lengthened to accommodate longer intermodal traffic while others have been eliminated or completely replaced to streamline traffic movements. We will view the revised cement facility at Boambee Beach and also take a closer look at the closed Dorrigo branch and the two feuding railway museum groups which share, or as it is now, divide the branch in two, Glenreagh Mountain Railway and Dorrigo Steam Railway & Museum.

Locomotive Classes seen in active service include AN, G, LDP, NR, 2200/422, 421, 432, 48 and 82 in the various PacNat and QR National owned liveries whilst passenger traffic includes Endeavour, Hunter and XPT equipment in CountryLink and CityRail liveries.

Approximate run time: 93 minutes.
