Having filmed trains as a hobby for 12 years or more, I have come across trains experiencing technical difficulties along the track. These incidents are usually long and involved, and do not lend themselves to be easily included in a video presentation without distracting from the theme of that presentation.
Therefore, I decided to make this video featuring 8 unrelated events of trains in trouble. These are as follows:
#1 Freight Australia g520/T392 with a 1520 tonne 20 wagon wheat train in difficulty climbing the Liverpool Ranges between Kankool & Ardglen.
#2 Freight Corp 48142/138/123/163 with 3,000 tonnes wheat train stuck up near old Werris Creek Coal Mine.
#3 Freight Corp 8241/48 in difficulties starting a 4,200 tonnes Gunnedah coal train after stopping at Werris Creek Station to exchange staff.
#4 Freight Corp 9027/20/02 with 11,000 tonne coal train stuck up on the Whittingham - Minimbah bank.
#5 Freight Rail 8011/08/24/37 with a difficult hill start & rescue 8040/42 + 8029/36/27/35 (8027 failed due to low oil pressure) at Charbon, both with 3,200 tonne coal trains.
#6 Freight Corp 8015/39 (Trialling with B.H.P.) - Out of fuel at Wongawilli.
#7 - B.H.P. D51/D47 - Hot engine failure of D47 at Wongawilli.
#8 ATN Access 4,000 tonne grain train powered by 6 locos EL61/EL56/GM37/42207/L251 - Electrical fire at Hurstville.
