SHEET P19 - OVERHEAD WIRES, MASTS, and PORTALS, c.1989
This sheet documents the typical masts and portals and their associated span and dropper wires, that were used c.1989 for the electrification of the NSWGR Sydney suburban and interurban rail system. Elevations and Sections are shown at 1:87.1 scale.
The sheet includes dimensioned details of the masts as used for portals with channel
bridges, cantilever masts, and catenary constant tension anchor masts. The types and sizes of the wires used, and the sizes of steel members, are noted. The arrangements of pull-off arms for straight (tangent) and curved (superelevated) track, for both positive and negative radial loads, and for single or double contact wires, are shown.
