“Just South Australian Trains 4 RETRO” is a DVD production featuring generous clips of locomotive noise, a wide variety of locomotives, colour schemes and operators. It follows “Just Australian Trains 3 RETRO” which covered the period from 1998 - 2000. This production deals with the periods 2002 - 2003, with a flashback to Alice Springs in 1997 (Part One) and 2003, 2004, 2008 (Part Two).
Earlier titles, “Just South Australian Trains” covers 2011 and “Just Australian Trains 2” 2012 - 2013 and are available on both DVD and BluRay Hi-Definition.
This DVD includes feverish activity leading up to the construction of the Alice Springs - Darwin line; night-time at Mount Lofty; Port Augusta area to Wirrappa; grain trains; Apamurra; J105 shunts Keswick and flashback to Alice Springs in 1997 with a preserved NSU in operation.
We view the changes from the Australian National Railway, through the National Rail era, to operation by Genesee & Wyoming Australia and other private rail operators. The footage is shot in Hi-8, DV and DVCAM video cameras.
